About NABF The North American Bonsai Federation, NABF, is an organization representing all bonsai and suiseki people in North America. John Y. Naka and Ted Tsukiyama, among others, founded it in 1989 to represent the North American region in the World Bonsai Friendship Federation, WBFF. The region consists of Canada and the United States. Since its' beginnings, during the First World Bonsai Convention in Omiya, Japan, WBFF and its nine regions: Africa, Asia-Pacific, Australia/New Zealand, China, Europe, Japan, India, North America and Latin America have been dedicated to the promotion of peace, friendship and goodwill in the world through bonsai and related art forms.
